On Sunday, October 19, 2014, the BMO Nesbitt Burns Prince Edward Island Marathon, Brown’s Volkswagen Corporate/Team Relay will be taking place in Prince Edward Island National Park. The PEI Marathon is one of Atlantic Canada’s premier sporting events and is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon.
For the safety of marathon participants, temporary road closures will be in effect from 7:30 am until 11:00 am on Sunday, October 19th. The public is advised of the following impacts:
· Closure of the Gulf Shore Parkway from Brackley to Dalvay, Robinson’s Island Road, north end of Bayshore Road, and north end of Stanhope Lane,
· Traffic will not be permitted to enter the park at the Dalvay gate after 7:30 a.m.; and
· The south lane of the Gulf Shore Parkway will remain open to one-way, eastbound traffic from Bayshore Road to Ross Lane to accommodate corporate relay teams.
