North Shore, PEI April 30th, 2015 – The Community of North Shore as a point of clarification and pride would like to affirm that the now Premier Wade MacLauchlan was duly elected to the Community of North Shore Council on November 5th, 2012 with returning officer Shawn Hennessey overseeing the process in conformity of the Elections PEI Act and the then Elections Bylaw of the Community of North Shore. MacLauchlan’s resignation was received Monday, February 2nd, 2015.
In addition, then Councillor Wade MacLauchlan represented not only our municipality but served as the Queens County Board Member of the Federation of Prince Edward Island Municipalities.
The North Shore Municipality is situated between the PEI National Park and the Municipality of York to the North and East of Charlottetown. The economic activity in the area has traditionally been farming, fishing and tourism. But the community has increasingly become a "bedroom community" for workers who commute to Charlottetown, or a summer haven for Islanders and non-Islanders.
