This regulation exists to provide a safe environment for visitors and to protect wildlife and their habitats. The presence of dogs on beaches can disrupt wildlife, including the breeding activity of the endangered Piping Plover.
Dogs are permitted in most other areas of the park. Visitors are reminded that all pets must be on a leash at all times and owners are responsible to clean up after their pet.
Parks Canada looks forward to welcoming you and your family to Prince Edward Island National Park this summer.
